Naruto was published first in November 1999 in the famous magazine Shonen Jump. It is a manga of the "Shonen" category. The author is the magaka Masashi Kishimoto, and the publisher is Jump Comics.
As manga , Naruto has a very large success with a total of 80 millions copies sold only in Japan. As per today the story consists in two parts, the first one known as Naruto and the second simply as Naruto Part II.
The Naruto part consists in 238 chapters, with an addendum of 6 chapters of the history of Kakashi Hatake.
The part II starts with the chapter 245 in June 2005 and 430 chapters so far, the manga is still going on.
As TV Anime, it was produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Yuuto Date starting in October 2002. It was broadcasted on TV Tokyo. The Part II started to be released in February 2007, still on TV Tokyo, and named Naruto Shippuden.
