The natural disaster which struck Japan on March 11th, 2011 at 14:46 JST combined a mega earthquake of a magnitude of 8.9 followed by a powerful tsunami with waves of up to 10 meters.
The casualties are officially confirmed at 2,000 deaths but at least 3,000 people reported missing, this is as per today Monday March 14th, but estimation of the final count could be above not far or above 10,000.
The earthquake and tsunami caused extensive and severe damage in Japan, including heavy damage to roads and railways as well as fires in many areas, and a dam collapse.

But, on this 4th day after the disaster, the main concern are the damages caused to the Nuclear Power Plants of Fukushima in the region of Tōhoku, which are important enough to remind Tchernobyl even if there are little similarties with the Russian nuclear power plant.
